Apologies proferred

I just had to go back and delete a bunch of xanga entries. Why? Because they either offended or had the potential to offend some other good and respected human beings.

I have one offspring who says he gets all his errors of judgment from me. My current error in judgment is just more proof for him to use when he wants to argue that point--but what good will that do him? Life is humbling.

Come to think of it, I have more than one offspring who say that they get all their errors of judgment from me. Fortunately for all of us, my wife is a veritable saint--not that I never find grounds for criticism, but then this whole post is about my tendency to make errors in judgment....

Anyway, when I read an offspring posting that I think might cause offense, I tell the dear Einstein to edit or remove, so my own counsel comes back at me today, and I'm only sorry I didn't take care of it sooner, or better yet never err from the beginning.

A shout out to Joseph who comments, "your blogs are confusing..."

I don't know if this quote will become as famous as "Dad, you have absolutely no idea what I'm thinking," but it stills asuages that deep confusion which lurks within that sometimes comes bubbling to the surface unbidden--or summoned by its sometime master in a futile hope to find reconciliation.

Also, those of you who actually read this might want to know that I have written some things lately on the blogger site at TEAMspinella that are more prosaic, and that I write mass audience email updates that are stored at a place called TEAMspinella at yahoo groups.

I'm glad to be back home, but winding down after an intense, stimulating couple weeks in Malaysia where I did a small midlife crazy--bought a bike to use it for 10 days and then left it behind!

Currently Listening
Sounds of Silence
By Simon & Garfunkel
I am a rock

Passion fruit

Intensity is a sign of passion and commitment, whether positive or negative.

"I am a rock, I am an island, and a rock feels no pain, and an island never cries."

But then rocks and islands don't actually write these words, or make them their favo song as I did once, right? And I still like it--Shrek, you hurt me deep.

We upgraded our adsl, and now skype seems to be working better. But "who you gonna call?"

Send me your skype ids or numbers by email?

Why do I quote this? A small protest against an unintended result of my predominant culture.... Anybody want to go biking? My promise: "We never leave anyone behind."

"Yiannakis also said children are taught, intentionally or not,
that they shouldn't play sports if they are not good at them. It
happens when kids get cut from sports teams, or when coaches bench
them for poor play.

"`It is an elitist system that encourages the best to play and
in a sense teaches the rest to be fans and spectators,' Yiannakis
said."
